We’re excited to announce that the Casper Association is partnering with Gitcoin to create The Friendly Hackathon, which will support and reward developers looking to build innovative dApps on Casper. The hackathon will run from September 13 to October 13, 2021. You can find everything you need to know about this competition here.
This event is open to developers of all experience levels, including Web2 developers who are interested in building within Web3 environments but are looking for a project that doesn’t require learning new coding languages. Casper introduces the most seamless process for migrating Web2 apps to blockchain environments — with zero Solidity knowledge required
We will be offering a variety of tiered prizes, outlined below:
Beginner level: 100 USD for the first 100 complete submissions.
Accomplish small tasks while getting to know the Casper ecosystem, and play with the Casper smart contracting platform to understand some basic features.
Intermediate level: 1,000 USD for the top 10 submissions.
Create something new while getting to know the Casper ecosystem in more detail.
Advanced level: 5,000 USD for the top 5 submissions.
Create a more complex dApp, proof of concept, or end-to-end use case, and deploy your solution to the Casper Testnet.
We’re thrilled to be collaborating with Gitcoin on this incredible event. For those who aren’t yet familiar with Gitcoin, it’s a platform designed for developers to be paid for working on open source software in Python, Rust, Ruby, JavaScript, Solidity, HTML, CSS, Design, and other languages. Bounties for this hackathon will be posted on the Casper Network and use Casper smart contracts thanks to a special integration with Gitcoin, and we will provide support and guidance throughout the event to make sure it is a collaborative, fun experience.
To get started, we encourage you to familiarize yourself with Casper’s developer resources and tools and join our Discord community to stay up to date on more announcements around The Friendly Hackathon. You can also stop by our Community Calls every Tuesday at 9AM PST/4PM UTC on YouTube to learn more about the Casper Network.
